CaliBama BBQ Selected as Official Caterer for Black Graduation/Black Excellence Celebration at Las Positas College

This prestigious event, hosted by the Black Cultural Resource Center (BCRC), honors students from the African diaspora who have completed a degree or certificate and those who have achieved a 3.0+ GPA.
The Black Graduation/Black Excellence Celebration is a key event that recognizes the academic achievements and perseverance of Black students at Las Positas College. About the Black Cultural Resource Center (BCRC): The BCRC at Las Positas College offers culturally relevant and responsive support, resources, and a sense of community for Black students. It houses various Black-centered programs, including Umoja, A2 MEND, Sista 2 Sista, ConnectUp, BSU, and the Black Education Association (BEA). The center’s mission is to create a space where Black students can thrive, empowered by love, self-definition, and self-determination.
The BCRC is dedicated to helping Black students achieve their individual goals by connecting them to essential resources and support. The center’s annual goals are informed by student input and sponsored by the BEA, furthering the mission of fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for Black students at Las Positas College.
About the Black Education Association (BEA): The BEA is an employee development group at Las Positas College that provides culturally reflective and relevant programs and support to Black-identified employees and students. With a focus on radical love and diasporic diversity, the BEA sponsors events and programs that promote belonging, respect, and success for Black students and employees.
Through professional development, compassionate leadership, and a commitment to improving college policies and support services, the BEA strives to make Las Positas College a welcoming destination for Black students and staff.
